Republicans say, "America's first-ever federal progressive income tax started in 1913."

Point of fact, Abraham Lincoln, a Republican, implemented the nation's first income tax. He was a fiscal conservative, knowing that modern wars are expensive and should be paid for.

Today's Republicans believe wars can be run on the cheap. While they are willing to sacrifice the lives of our young soldiers they attend Tea Parties and constantly prattle on about their precious tax cuts.

I don't know about those previous posts predicting Mish backing up on deflation. I think the FED is trying to keep up with shrinking capital stocks due to debt paydowns not being offset by new loans. That and as I've guessed before, banks are self insuring their underwater portions of their balance sheets.
What might ignite some positive data is if/when pure capital begins to nourish the economy instead of being fed by new debt.

Mish has previously said that the economic crackup will come with deflation. But I think he's coming to the realization that the ONLY real tool central banks have is inflation. They use it every time.
