It isn't the paycheck you get that stimulates the economy it is the work you do to earn it. Charles, do not think there are roses in the forecast just because the stock market is back to where it was in 2009. The market is at that level because the amount of dollars has increased by some 18+ Trillion so the market might have a nice number but that number in real dollars of value is sorely short of the mark. It is called INFLATION do the math and you will find out how far you are behind in real value....

There is a problem for me in the way business is being looked at. For people who have never run a business reported profits look good. BUT not as important as how the business got to their numbers.

It you make a mouse tray and I but one. You make a profit.. (Hopefully) If I don't buy one and you want to show a profit you can fire one of your mouse trap makers and lower you cost. They will show a profit on your balance sheet. There are dozens of way to do this slight of hand. Such as borrowing cheaper money and lowering you interest payments. etc. If you are a stock/financial trader it really doesn't matter how the company get to the bottom line. The game continues. I love your analogies of the cake and the parties, etc. I also support your take on investing in companies with large global footprints. I would say go further and invest overseas directly. Also, the long term investments are a good idea. Why do I like these ideas? Because they will not only protect personal capital but also deny tax revenues to the federal government. We must not reward them for their callous disregard for the makers of this nation.

I spent the last four years paying off all my consumer debt, paying off my house and vehicles, I have transitioned my employees to new employers, and liquidated all my investment holdings. I can now live on less than 10k a year, pay no taxes, be exempt for buying health insurance and being taxed for not buying it and then only pick up insurance if and when it is an actual need. I can ride out four more years and let the parasites and illegals spend their ill gotten gains to keep the economy going. Basically, I've decided to stop feeding the beast.
